Input lists

Editing channels and syncing to riders

Adjust rows, columns, phantom power, and push changes into linked riders.

Once your input list is created, filling it in is mostly typing. Everything is editable inline — click a cell, type, move on.

Editing cells

Click any cell to edit. Tab moves to the next cell.

Click any cell and start typing. Press Tab to move to the next column, or click elsewhere to commit the change. Plot saves automatically — there's no Save button to worry about.

Adding, removing, and reordering rows

  • Add a row — click the "Add channel" button at the bottom of the table. A new row appears with the next channel number.
  • Remove a row — open the row menu and choose Delete. Remaining channels renumber themselves.
  • Reorder — drag a row by its handle on the left edge to move it up or down.
  • Duplicate — use Duplicate row from the row menu when two channels are almost identical (for example, two tom mics with the same stand and mic).

Duplicating is the fastest way to build anything with a lot of similar channels — drum kits especially. Duplicate once, change the channel number and the position, and you're done.

Phantom power (48V)

The 48V checkbox is for channels that need phantom power. Turn it on for:

  • Condenser microphones — most overhead and vocal condensers.
  • Active DI boxes — anything that says "active DI" on the label.

Leave it off for dynamic mics (SM57, SM58, Beta 52), ribbon mics, and passive DIs. Phantom power into a ribbon mic is a good way to ruin a ribbon mic, so if in doubt, check with your engineer.

Own gear

The own gear checkbox means "the artist is bringing this, the venue doesn't need to provide it." Tick it for in-ears, personal wireless mics, your own bass DI, or any mic that's part of your kit.

Engineers and production managers use this column to know what they do and don't need to pull from their locker.

Syncing to a rider

A dialog showing which riders have this input list embedded and a button to push the latest changes
If your list is embedded in one or more riders, push an update to all of them in one click.

If you've embedded this input list inside a rider (see the Input List section in the rider editor), the two are linked. When you update the list, the rider doesn't automatically re-render until you push the changes.

In the input list editor, open the Sync menu and you'll see which riders this list is embedded in. Click Push update and every linked rider picks up the latest version.

What's next

Once the list is in shape, read sharing an input list to get it in front of whoever needs it.
