Troubleshooting and FAQ

Common problems and how to fix them — plus answers to frequent questions.

Most issues in Plot have a short, specific fix. Here are the ones we hear about most often.

Check that the public toggle is still on. If it was turned off — accidentally or on purpose — the link stops working and recipients see a "link revoked" message. Flip it back on in the share panel and the same URL is live again.

I don't see a collaborator's edits

Refresh the page. Plot syncs concurrent edits quickly but not instantly, so if two of you were in the document at the same time, a refresh brings everything up to date.

The PDF export looks wrong or is missing things

Check that every section you want in the PDF is enabled and has content. Empty or disabled sections are skipped, which can make the PDF look like it's lost things it never had. If it still looks off, try the export one more time — occasionally a render glitches on the first attempt and works on the second.

Two usual causes: you (or another owner) revoked the public link, or the document was deleted. Open the document in Plot and check the share panel. If the public toggle is off, flip it back on. If the document isn't there at all, it was deleted and you'll need to send a new one.

I got locked out of my account

Use Forgot password on the login page. You'll get an email with a reset link. If the reset email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email us if it's still missing.

Can I work offline?

Not right now. Plot needs an internet connection — your changes save to your account as you go, and none of that works without a network. It's on our list, but it's not a small job, so don't plan around it yet.

Do I need to verify my email?

Yes, once. When you sign up, Plot sends a verification email. Click the link in it and you're in. After that you don't see it again.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. Plot works in mobile browsers — you can read documents and make small edits from your phone — but the stage plot canvas and the rider editor really want a desktop or laptop. Bookmark the site on your phone's home screen if you want a one-tap shortcut in the meantime.

Who can see my documents?

Only you, by default. A document becomes visible to someone else only when you either invite them as a collaborator or turn on a public link. There's nothing hidden in the middle — nothing is indexed, nothing surfaces in search engines, and other Plot users can't find your documents.

Something's acting weird and none of this fits

That's the useful category. If your question isn't here, email us at [email protected] — we reply fast and we use real questions to improve these docs.
